Working in a range of materials creating timeless individual pieces.

Tasman Forge was founded by UK designer and furniture maker Tim Bleackley. Established in the early 1990's as Art In Iron, Tim started the company in Athens, Greece where he worked mainly with architects and interior designers, creating custom made work for their clients.

'My passion is to create unique furniture using time honoured methods of blacksmithing and joinery capable of withstanding the test of time in both style and durability.'

Tim emigrated to Nelson, New Zealand in 1998 where his company soon acquired a reputation for producing pieces of an extremely high standard and quality of craftsmanship.

As commissions grew, and more pieces started to be exported, the decision was made to change the name of the business to reflect the origin of the products, and so Tasman Forge was born!

Whilst continuing to accept commissions for custom-made pieces, they also design and produce an ever expanding range of hand forged entrance doors, furniture, door handles and curtain accessories that are available through selected outlets in New Zealand and overseas.
